Gaffer Extraordinaire

The Master of Light. The Craftsman of Photons.

David is the guy who cooks with light. The man that makes a scene GLOW - literally. You will often catch him standing with a light meter, or just with his hands on his hips deep in thought… Chances are he is thinking what light to put where and then how to hide it in the frame. Oh and he once lit a horse on the roof of a shopping centre. He still has no idea how it got up there.

The Credits

David's credit list is one of the deepest on the team, full stop. He has worked on Marvel's Black Widow, gaffed for Netflix, lit commercials for Mitsubishi, Sony, Motorola, Skoda, Xiaomi, Ecoflow, Casio & many more. He's worked on huge music videos for Poland’s greatest artists such as Mata, Natalia Szroeder, Margaret, Young Igi, Oskar Cyms and many more. On top of that he's worked on 14 Short Films, many of them winning prestigious awards and festivals such as the 48 Hour Film Project.

He's also a Godox global ambassador, which we’re guessing means he knows his lights.

The Rental House

He owns GafferGrip - a lighting rental house based in Warsaw, which regularly supplies TRIO's sets with everything from a single LED panel to rigs the size of a small building. Ask him for a big dramatic key light or a tiny practical hidden behind a lampshade and he'll have an opinion on both. Usually the correct one.

The Human

David is also an educator. You might catch him giving a talk on the QUALITY OF LIGHT or talking about the difference between LEDs all over the world. From the biggest stages at NAB in Vegas, to Poland’s biggest film festivals - the man is sharing his knowledge.
